At Keir Projects, we’re proud to be built on strong foundations — ones that include family, trust, and a drive to do things differently. At the centre of it all these days are two brothers; Jed Keir and Josh Ireland, whose combined experience and determination helped shape the construction company you see today.
Josh and Jed didn’t begin their careers in the same place. Josh started out in plumbing and drainlaying before transitioning into building construction. Jed, on the other hand, went straight into civil construction. It wasn’t until they both ended up at the same company — working in different departments — that they realised their shared vision and complementary skills were the perfect foundation for something more.
That moment sparked the idea of doing something together — and taking on projects others might view challenging. It just so happened that they had the opportunity to be involved in a business with their father Mike Keir, which had the potential to do just that. Over time, the construction company has evolved, and their projects expanded. Today, KLS (Keir landscaping and Structures) is now known as Keir Projects — a new name, but the same commitment to challenging builds and quality outcomes.
Trust is at the core of everything Josh and Jed do. As brothers, they know exactly how to back each other — taking risks, working hard, and staying focused on the end result. Their “bite off more than you can chew, then chew like hell” approach and the support of their father (Mike Keir) has paid off time and time again, helping grow the business to where it is today.
That mindset was shaped early, growing up with a strong work ethic and a deep respect for putting in the hard yards. Every project is a reflection of that grit, determination, and pride in doing the job right
Josh and Jed will be the first to tell you — they couldn’t do it alone. The support of their father has been huge and he is still involved today in a governance capacity keeping them on their toes. The team behind Keir Projects has become an extension of their family. From long-time crew members to new recruits, they’ve worked hard to build a culture where people are valued, supported, and given the space to do their best work.
Keir Projects stands for practical problem-solving, quality craftsmanship, and building relationships that last — on-site and off.
What started as KLS is now Keir Projects — a name that reflects where the business is heading, without forgetting where it began. With a strong team behind them and big plans for the future, Josh and Jed are just getting started — and we’re excited for what’s to come.
