At Keir Projects, we’re proud to be part of shaping spaces that support both growth and liveability. We’ve delivered two significant noise wall projects in Hamilton; one at the Ruakura Inland Port and another at the Peacocke Development. Both highlight the role these structures play in creating quieter, more comfortable environments for the people who live and work nearby.
A noise wall is more than just a barrier. Its purpose is to reduce traffic and activity sounds from busy transport routes, creating a buffer for residential and community areas.
By lessening unwanted noise, these walls improve everyday wellbeing and help make rapidly developing areas more enjoyable places to live.
The Keir Projects team builds durable timber noise walls that are designed to last.
Each structure is engineered with treated 250SED – 400SED timber posts and SG8 palings, installed with precision to create a continuous noise barrier and with stand the toughest of weather conditions.
Standing tall and strong, they not only deliver function but also fit neatly into their surrounding environments.
One of our builds is the 2.4-metre-high, 200-metre-long noise wall on Whatukooruru Drive in Peacocke.
This project is part of the new connection running between Peacockes Road and Ohaupo Road/SH3.
Built to reduce traffic noise in this growing area, it’s already making a positive impact for the community. The scale and finish of the wall reflect the skill of our team and our commitment to delivering infrastructure that works.
At Ruakura, we also completed a 4m-meter-hign, 800m-meter-long noise wall to help manage sound levels from the busy inland port between the rail corridor and growing development behind.
This project had its challenges, with the share scale and having to drill through 2.5m of loose large rock.
The project supports both operational needs and community comfort, showing how effective design and construction can make a real difference.
From planning through to completion, every noise wall we build is a team effort, combining technical know-how with attention to detail. We’re proud of these results and the lasting benefits they bring to Hamilton’s communities.
